The Muslim Life Style Expo (and our first blog post!)
The Muslim Lifestyle Expo (#MLE) is a pioneering event that brings the best of being #Islamic to one location.
The stand
We stepped into new territory and held our very first stand at Event City, Manchester. Giving us the chance to bring our 2016 Autumn/Winter collection out of the store and direct to our customer base.
We have done many shows in London over the past year and half, but this was our first show up north.
As we found ourselves largely surrounded by abayas, saharis, hijabs and scarves, Sanzaa stood out with its’ unique and contemporary, high-quality, modest clothes.
It also helped that our brightly lit setup and signature look meant we were hard to miss!
Described as ‘the event of the year’ for Muslim designers and traders, it promised to be a big hit largely due to the impressive line-up and, certainly didn’t disappoint.
We were overwhelmed by the response received from visitors to our stall who had not previously stumbled across #Sanzaa, including some iconic people, including the lovely blogger @humairakaay, and comedian @GuzKhanOfficial (who is just as awesome in real life).
The show was also featured on BBC Radio 4, ITV Granada, The Manchester Evening News, and many more.
The Catwalk
Despite being busy manning our stall, we did manage to sneak away to watch our new collection on the #MLE runway; where Director @Zaf Sahbir, along with his team of models showcased our collection beautifully.
From the clothing rails of Duckworth Lane boutique, Bradford, to the crisp-white Manchester runway, our gorgeous fabric maroon, steel grey, mocha and khaki midi dresses, tunics, trench coats and lace hijabs provided event-goers with just a taster of what #Sanzaa’s new range has to offer.
The future
Over all, we really enjoyed spending time at this year’s Muslim Lifestyle Expo. It was nice to see some old faces, whilst bring #Sanzaa to a new audience.
Planning has already begun for #MLE 2017, and we can’t wait!
